April 2026 Newsletter - The House On East Paces
Hello friends,
Last month marked 26 years of Aria. Nearly a year into this new chapter, it felt like the right moment to reflect on the house itself, the one we have all been coming back to all these years.
As best we know, it began as a bungalow in the 1930s. In the 1960s, it was home to Kenneth Garcia Interiors, and parts of the interior trace back to the J. Carroll Payne house on Peachtree, which came down in the early 1970s. There are also stories of it being a hair salon and even a clothing store. If any of you can confirm or add to that history, I would love to hear it. In 1981, it became Hedgerose Heights Inn, later Hedgerose, before becoming Aria in 2000.
We are now nearly a year into this new chapter, and much of our focus has been on simply taking care of it. Paying attention to how it feels. Making small, thoughtful adjustments, so that it remains what it has always been at its best: intimate, comfortable, and simply special.
It is a space that has held many memories over time. We are grateful to be part of that story, and to continue it.
